“My husband and I moved from an older home built in the 1950’s that needed “some work.” That work proved to be time-consuming, expensive and stressful to manage, especially considering the fact that both of us have full-time jobs. So when we began to search for our new home here in Portland, I knew exactly what I did NOT want: a fixer-upper. The thing is, though, that many homes in Portland are just that, fixer-uppers. To make it more challenging, still, we knew we had to live in the city–no suburban living for us.
